Investors are ringing in the new trading ring with worries about the effects of higher oil prices on the global economy.
Good morning, this is Tracey Fitzpatrick with the Week Ahead Market Report for February 27, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by about 0.14 percent, and the Hang Seng Index was lower by 0.88 percent.
The FTSE 100 was lower by about nine tenths of a percent, and the German DAX was lower by about 1.1 percent.
Some key data due to be released this week includes consumer confidence on Tuesday, GDP on Wednesday, and personal income as well as auto sales on Thursday.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) on Tuesday, Capital Senior Living (NYSE:CSU) as well as Centerpoint Energy (NYSE:CNP) on Wednesday, Rockwell Medical Technologies (NASDAQ:RMTI) on Thursday, and Big Lots (NYSE:BIG) on Friday.
