Investors will be digesting news from Europe this week in the hopes that the bond swap deal negotiated last week calms global markets.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 12, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by about four tenths of a percent, and the Hang Seng Index was higher by about two tenths of a percent.
The FTSE 100 was about even, and the German DAX was higher by about a tenth of a percent.
Some key data due to be released this week includes retail sales on Tuesday, initial claims on Thursday, and producer prices on Friday.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Infinity Pharmaceuticals (INFI) on Tuesday, Affymax (AFFY) on Wednesday, KIT digital (KITD) on Thursday, and Tsakos Energy Navigation (NYSE:TNP) as well as ReneSola (NYSE:SOL) on Friday.
