Daily Market Wrap: April 23, 2012Monday, April 23, 5:06 PM ET
Economic uncertainty in Europe kept all three U.S. major indices in negative territory today.
On the earnings front, DR Horton (NYSE:DHI ) posted fiscal second quarter earnings which rose 46 percent and blew past analysts expectations.
Shares of the nation's largest homebuilder are trading higher today.
Xerox (NYSE:XRX ) also managed to beat estimates with its first quarter earnings and the company also affirmed its earnings guidance for the year.
In M&A news, Nestle beat out Danone to buy Pfizer's (NYSE:PFE ) infant nutrition business in a deal worth $11.85 billion.
AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN ) announced it has agreed to buy Ardea Biosciences for $1.26 billion in an effort to restock its drug pipeline.
Tomorrow, we'll take a look at the S&P Case-Shiller home price index as well as earnings from AT&T (NYSE:T ) and 3M (NYSE:MMM ).
