The Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF (NYSE:VYM) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 1.7 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 518,000. Shares of VYM were off about 0.8% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), trading off about 2.5% with over 26.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and JP Morgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), down about 2.6% on volume of over 24.5 million shares. Avon Products (AVP) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 2.8% on the day, while MTS Systems (MTSC) is lagging other components of the Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF, trading lower by about 5.1%.
