The iShares S&P Global Financials Sector Index Fund ETF (AMEX:IXG) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 268,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 86,000. Shares of IXG were down about 1.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), trading down about 1.9% with over 109.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Citigroup (NYSE:C), off about 2% on volume of over 21.3 million shares. National Bank Greece SA (NYSE:NBG) is the component faring the best Friday, higher by about 3.3% on the day, while Genworth Financial (NYSE:GNW) is lagging other components of the iShares S&P Global Financials Sector Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 3.4%.
