In early trading on Monday, investors had little news to move the markets, leaving the major indices trading close to even so far.
Good morning this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for December 9, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was trading higher by 2.3% and the Hang Seng was higher by about 0.3% overnight. In Europe on Monday, the FTSE 100 was relatively flat and the German DAX is higher by 0.5%.
In economic news, investors will see reports regarding oil inventories on Wednesday, initial jobless claims and retail sales on Thursday and core PPI on Friday.
In earnings news this week, Autozone (NYSE:AZO) and H&R Block (NYSE:HRB) report on Tuesday, Costco (NASDAQ:COST) and the Men's Wearhouse (MW) report on Wednesday, Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) reports on Thursday and Value Line (NASDAQ:VALU) reports on Friday.
