The US markets are slightly lower this afternoon, with the Dow down 0.17%, the S&P lower by 0.15% and the Nasdaq flat. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) up 14%, General Electric (NYSE:GE) down 1.8%, Facebook (FB) up 2%, and Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) down 0.25%.
Good afternoon, this is Tracey Fitzpatrick with the Week Ahead Market Report for July 21, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by 1.01%, and the Hang Seng was down 0.29%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was down 0.31% and the German DAX was lower by 1.11% today.
In economic news, CPI and Existing Home Sales are released tomorrow, Initial Claims on Thursday and Durable Goods on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Apple (AAPL) and Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) tomorrow, CA (NASDAQ:CA), E*TRADE (ETFC) and Delta Airlines (NYSE:DAL) on Wednesday, Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) on Thursday, and Aon (NYSE:AON) on Friday.
