Looking at the sectors faring worst as of midday Thursday, shares of Healthcare companies are underperforming other sectors, showing a 0.4% loss. Within that group, Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:MRNA) and Molina Healthcare Inc (NYSE:MOH) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 3.5% and 2.7%, respectively. Among healthcare ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLV), which is down 0.6% on the day, and up 6.47% year-to-date. Moderna Inc, meanwhile, is down 5.39% year-to-date, and Molina Healthcare Inc is up 8.17% year-to-date. Combined, MRNA and MOH make up approximately 1.0% of the underlying holdings of XLV.
The next worst performing sector is the Utilities sector, higher by 0.4%. Among large Utilities stocks, Xcel Energy Inc (NASDAQ:XEL) and Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CEG) are the most notable, showing a loss of 7.3% and 2.4%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Utilities stocks is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU), which is up 0.3% in midday trading, and down 1.64% on a year-to-date basis. Xcel Energy Inc, meanwhile, is down 13.63% year-to-date, and Constellation Energy Corp is up 42.58% year-to-date. Combined, XEL and CEG make up approximately 9.2% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
