The iShares Micro-Cap ETF (NYSE:IWC) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 282,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 107,000. Shares of IWC were down about 0.9% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Cytori Therapeutics (CYTX), trading up about 12.8% with over 5.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Triangle Petroleum (TPLM), down about 15.7% on volume of over 4.6 million shares. Synthesis Energy Systems (SYMX) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 16.2% on the day, while Vaalco Energy (NYSE:EGY) is lagging other components of the iShares Micro-Cap ETF, trading lower by about 19.5%.
