The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 are lower in afternoon trading on Monday, while the NASDAQ is basically flat. Some of the most actively traded stocks include GE (NYSE:GE) down 2.7%, Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 0.5%, Nokia (NYSE:NOK) higher by 0.5% and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) down 0.2%.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was relatively flat, and the Hang Seng was up 2.73%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was higher, up 0.70% and the German DAX was lower by 0.29% today.
In economic news, Retail Sales is released tomorrow, Jobless Claims on Thursday and Consumer Sentiment on Friday.
Some of the companies releasing earnings this week include: JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), Intel (INTC) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) on Tuesday, Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) and U.S. Bancorp (USB) on Wednesday, Citigroup (C) and Goldman Sachs Group (GS) on Thursday and GE (NYSE:GE) on Friday.
