As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Conns (NASDAQ:CONN), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Monday, CEO Norman Miller bought 20,333 shares of CONN, at a cost of $24.89 each, for a total investment of $506,088. Miller was up about 6.7% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with CONN trading as high as $26.55 at last check today. Conns is trading off about 3.6% on the day Thursday.
And also on Monday, CEO Paul A. Farr purchased $312,900 worth of Talen Energy Corp (TLN), purchasing 30,000 shares at a cost of $10.43 each. Talen Energy Corp is trading up about 7.2% on the day Thursday. Farr was up about 15.9% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with TLN trading as high as $12.09 at last check today.
