The Guggenheim S&P 500 Equal Weight Energy ETF (NYSE:RYE) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 149,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 42,000. Shares of RYE were down about 2.7% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Kinder Morgan (NYSE:KMI), trading off about 4% with over 12.1 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK), down about 4.4% on volume of over 9.7 million shares. Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 0.5% on the day, while Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN) is lagging other components of the Guggenheim S&P 500 Equal Weight Energy ETF, trading lower by about 8%.
