In trading on Monday, the SPDR S&P Metals and Mining ETF (NYSE:XME) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 3% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of United States Steel (NYSE:X), up about 7.1% and shares of Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:CLF), up about 6.8% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund ETF (NYSE:XLU), down about 1% in Monday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Monday were shares of PPL (NYSE:PPL), lower by about 1.7%, and shares of Consolidated Edison (NYSE:ED), lower by about 1.6% on the day.
