As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Cable One (NYSE:CABO), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Monday, Donald Graham bought 24,561 shares of CABO, at a cost of $742.52 each, for a total investment of $18.24M. Cable One is trading up about 0.3% on the day Thursday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Graham in the past twelve months.
And at Kala Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:KALA), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director Gregory Grunberg who bought 215,000 shares for a cost of $15.00 each, for a trade totaling $3.23M. This buy marks the first one filed by Grunberg in the past year. Kala Pharmaceuticals is trading up about 1% on the day Thursday. Grunberg was up about 27.9% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with KALA trading as high as $19.19 at last check today.
