In trading on Thursday, the SPDR S&P Metals & Mining ETF (NYSE:XME) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 1% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Warrior Met Coal (NYSE:HCC), up about 10% and shares of Consol Energy (NYSE:CEIX), up about 5% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the SPDR S&P Insurance ETF (NYSE:KIE), off about 1.6% in Thursday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Thursday were shares of American International Group (NYSE:AIG), lower by about 7.1%, and shares of American Equity Investment Life Holding (NYSE:AEL), lower by about 6.2% on the day.
