The First Trust S&P REIT Index Fund ETF (NYSE:FRI) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 247,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 33,000. Shares of FRI were up about 0.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Intelsat (I), trading up about 10.2% with over 4.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and GGP (GGP), up about 0.4% on volume of over 3.8 million shares. Farmland Partners (NYSE:FPI) is the component faring the best Thursday, higher by about 22.2% on the day, while QTS Realty Trust (QTS) is lagging other components of the First Trust S&P REIT Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 1.7%.
