In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 4.5%. Year to date, Western Digital registers a 11.2% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Mylan (MYL), trading down 4.7%. Mylan is lower by about 36.8% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are AmerisourceBergen (ABC), trading down 4.7%, and Chesapeake Energy (CHK), trading up 3.9% on the day.
